The Live Target Yellow Perch has a nice, wide, and erratic action. It handles being banged of rocks and over submerged structure like a trooper and its bouyancy helps it back off the structure to help avoid snags. The best part is that the big fish crush it. The quality of these lures is very impressive. They are replacing many of my Rapalas.
i was looking for a decent pike lure on the Cabelas website and saw this live target perch. I was going to order it but it said it was backordered, so the next day i drive down to cabelas to shop for fishing gear found this and bought it, i bought the matte finish, totally worth the drive and price. i go out fishing this morning and i tried a few spots on a local lake and i catch a pike. As soon as it hits the water it hit. I totally recomened this product to anyone that fishes for pike, might have to go buy more.
I bought this lure knowing I would be heading on a trip to a lake chock full of yellow perch. On its first trolling run, caught a decent pike. The beautiful finish immediately started comming off due to the pike's teeth. If I am going to spend THAT much money on a lure, I expect the finish to be tougher.
Used the largest size 4 3/4" in MCG color for the first time last weekend on a canoe camping trip to Algonquin Park. My go to lure for pike fishing over those few days trolling. Great action/sound and amazing life-like pattern. Lure finish stood up well enough to 13 2-4 pd pike although it did get marred a bit on the underside. Medium diver in this size only but it dove to 15' feet - well over the 7' identified in the lure specs. Tracks true from speeds ranging from 2-6 km/hr. Picking up a few others in the smaller sizes (both med and deep divers) and a few extra larger ones - can't find these at my local shops.
