A real review about this item
Date:
These are great little cages to hold bait for your crab traps, etc. Other reviewers seemed to think these were the entire crab trap! The vinyl coating helps stop rust in the saltwater environment, and the elastic strap with a hook keeps the lid in place. They work great!

One Trap doesn't work for all
Date:
Well we have crabbed the NC coast for years and know the place to put traps, mainly with the 1000 other traps that have crabs in them. I would have to say that one trap design may not work on both coasts. So it seems like these metal traps work well for the west coast but not the east coast.

Trap works ecellent on the west coast..
Date:
The problem with most of the reviews that I've read leads me to believe that the traps are not being placed the right locations. Out here on the West Coast I've placed these traps for the past ten years and have always hauled lots of legal size crab. At times too many for my family alone to eat. They're well built and heavy enough to sit on the bottom, however, an additional four pounds fo lead attached to the bottom does'nt hurt! By the way, it helps to put the trap in the right location!
