The Pedersoli Globe Sight with inserts is a good product for the money. I like the screw mechanism that holds the insert in place much better than the upper retaining spring/arm design. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because the screw mechanism works loose after a few shots but I cured that with a little plumbers tape on the threads.
I ordered this globe sight for my 1874 sharps hunter. The sight is hard to see in low light and they dont give you any instructions on how to mount it, but if you have been around guns alot it is not a problem if not have it mounted for you, and be sure to get it on center. But all and all this is a good sight and rember it is only as good as the rear sight so don`t get a cheep rear sight go ahead and spend the money for what you want or you will have to buy another rear sight as I am going to have to do.
I bought this front sight from my DP standard model 1874 Sharps rifle. The globe front sight installs easily (push out the original, slide in the new sight) into the dovetail. The sight includes a number of inserts for various sight pictures. Simply unscrew the sight tube, drop in a new insert and re-tighten the tube.
I purchased the the Globe sight for my Pedersoli, "Quigley" Sharps. It mounted easily and the sight card was as good as the higher priced cards I have seen. When using the buckhorn/ladder that comes with the rifle, my shots are high. A file on the rear sight will take care of that.
