Byer Allagash AL Cot

  • 5" extra width
  • 250-lb. weight capacity
  • Quick easy setup
The Allagash AL is Byer of Maine's newest folding cot that delivers a very low rise, yet superior comfort. Constructed of a lightweight extruded-aluminum frame offering sturdy support for sleepers up to 250 lbs. It's covered in durable 450-denier polyester that is mildew-resistant and is easily hand-cleaned with mild soap. The four spring steel legs offer support and flexibility by conforming to the contour of your body for a restful sleep. In the folded position, cot legs are stored in a sleeve and attached with hook-and-loop type straps that form a handle. This cot is ideal for situations requiring lightweight and compact storability. It's great for camping, a spare bed, emergency preparedness or your vacation home. Setup is as easy as unfolding the cot upside down and inserting four legs into the holes in the frame, then you're ready for a comfortable night's sleep. Imported.

Good back country cot
Date:
I purchased this cot about 8 years ago and used it for two weeks at a time on back country Elk hunting trips in Colorado. I was tired of fighting air matresses with un-findable leaks and foam matresses on the ground. It was well worth the cost. This last year though it finally broke, not from poor construction, but I fell back on it and landed right on a joint, snapping the metal. After that, I taped it up with duct tape and it still supported my 230 lbs for the remainder of the trip. Make sure though you bring old water hose with you so it doesn't damage the floor fo your tent. Put the legs in split water hose and tape them. It works great.

Squeaky fix
Date:
Purchased this cot for float trips. Cot sets up in a snap. Don't understand the trouble other reviewers had. Guess they need to eat a little more red meat. Anyway, the only reason I didn't give this cot five stars was because of the squeaky noise it makes whenyou turn over in the night. Here's the fix. Pull the two side poles out and rub them down with candle wax. Use the unscented candles. You don't want a bear sticking his nose in your tent looking for something that smells like peppermint. No more squeak to wake up your buddy.

That is exactly what I'm looking for!

This is a great cot!
I wasn't sure if I should order them or not because of all the reviews about assembling. Now we received three, one for my daughter, one for my wife and one for me and the first thing I did was to assemble them:
So I was really very surprised how easy it goes, I had no problems at all! O.K. my 11 years old daughter can't do it, but she also cannot assemble our family tent too - that's just my job...

Really works!
Date:
I just returned from a camping trip using this new cot. I was surprised at how comfortable it was.
I've slept in tents all my life and have tried self inflatable mattresses, the ground, foam, down, and blow ups. None of them beats the comfort of this cot. The only drawbacks were assembly and it is a bit low. All in all, a great match for my tent, I thought it would make things tighter, but I actually had more room. A good buy for the money !
