  • Keeps ice for over a week
  • Tons of capacity for long-term adventures
  • Tough polyethylene construction
  • Polyurethane foam for superior insulating properties
Often find yourself in extremely remote locations for extended periods of time with refrigeration needs? The Outback 132-qt. has the ability to keep ice for over a week. Extremely rugged, heavy-duty construction, this cooler is the ultimate accessory to your long-term adventures. For a lifetime of ultrainsulating service in untamed environments, the housing is crafted from tough polyethylene with UV blockers and is filled with polyurethane foam. The lid swings open on one continuous stainless steel hinge that will not wear out or break. And inside the lid is a removable cutting board for completing all your in-camp butchering duties. Sturdy stainless steel lockable latches form a seal that is completely impermeable to weather and rodents. When your trip is over and it's time to clean the cooler out, drainage is made fast and easy by the molded-in steel drain faucet. Single divider keeps contents separate and organized. Molded-in carry handles for convenient toting.

Great Cooler
Date:
I love this big cooler and the sturdiness of it. Lots of room and is very rugged for extended fishing and hunting trips. This is not a cooler your would take on an afternoon picnic as it is very big.

Solid, tough, heavy, insulation pretty good
Date:
20 months outside & the UV hasn't hurt it. Used it for 3 extended trips, twice in hotter weather, once in cool autumn mountain weather, and it performed about like I'd expected.
One trip was 4-day family event, started with 8 bags of crushed, several cases of cold drinks. Lid was up & down all day, needed 3 or 4 bags of new ice each day, no biggie, store was a mile down the road.
Other two trips up in the mountains, 35 mile round trip on a 4x4 road to the nearest store, I was nervous. Started with a chilled cooler, 10 lbs of dry ice , 5 blocks of ice, and some of the meat was frozen. Kept it in heavy shade, only opened it once a day in the (cool) morning to pull out what we needed and put it in smaller coolers. Worked fantastic. Morning of day 7, still had a little ice left, food was still good and cold. If you use it that way, it really will keep food cold for a week. If you open it 30 times a day on a 90-degree beach, it'll make a fair-to-middlin' kids' bath tub. The faucet is great for quick draining, but it helps to put it on 4 bricks or rocks, because the spigot-mouth is only about a quarter inch off the ground.
It's heavy duty, tough, durable...and it's HEAVY, and big, and clunky. for short trips I still use a smaller cooler.
I think the folks who complain about their ice melting may be expecting it to work like a refrigerator? It won't. But if you pre-chill it, start with plenty of dry ice, block ice, and cold or frozen food, keep it in the shade, and DON'T OPEN IT OFTEN IN HOT WEATHER, it will do the job for you for a week....less if the weather is really hot.
