And with its extremely rugged, heavy-duty construction, it is the ultimate accessory for your long-term adventures. For a lifetime of ultrainsulating service in untamed environments, the housing is crafted from tough polyethylene with UV blockers and is filled with polyurethane foam. The lid swings open on one continuous stainless steel hinge that will not wear out or break. Sturdy stainless steel lockable latches form a seal that is completely impermeable to weather and rodents. The molded-in carry handles make for convenient toting. When your trip is over and it's time to clean the cooler out, drainage is made fast and easy by the molded-in steel drain faucet.

Tough and Very USable

Purchased Outfitter Ice Otter in September of 2010, took it in on Mules to hunting camp on the 26th, it got abused to say the least & used it for 10 days, tucked it away under tent awning to keep direct sun off cooler. Had very little melting and kept it's ice and our meat good for 10 days, is an outstanding bargain for the money I paid. Would reccomend it to anyone looking for something tough enough to be Mule or Horse packed into hunting camp.

After taking our Ice Otter on a week trip to Glacier National Park this past summer, I came back home and purchased another Ice Otter right away! We took two coolers on this trip. The other cooler used was a higher end quality cooler that ended up using 1.5 bags of ice per day on the trip. The Ice Otter used 3 bags for the whole week with ice left over from the original chunk I put into it when we left the house. I now have one Ice Otter for food and another Ice Otter for drinks. I have had several coolers in my camping career. This one is worth the price. Some places you go you don't have the opportunity to even purchase ice so this is where the Ice Otter really pays off. Buy this cooler once and keep it a lifetime. You will waste your money buying anything else when it comes to coolers.
