Provided pictures of each dish so you knew what you were making! I will say the price was a bit high but the book has lots of recipes for multiple animals and pictures of a finished product.
Picked up this book on sale and was very pleasantly surprised by the wealth of information available. From it I learned the proper way to butcher a deer hind quarter to get the proper roasts. The photos and descriptions for other game were informative and helpful for any beginner.
The recipes range from simple to moderately sophisticated. Everything I tried has worked out. (except the hasenpheffer, but that was due to trying to cook an "old goat" of a jackrabbit!). If I were to rely on one game cookbook, this would be it.
Every book from this publisher that I have purchased has had excellent photos, instructions and ideas. This one meets their high standards.
