Cabela's Meat Grinders

Our manually operated meat grinders sport heavy-duty cast-iron construction with double-tin plating to resist stains and corrosion. All come complete with knife, two grinding plates (3/8" coarse and 3/16" fine) and sausage-stuffer tube.
Available:
  • No. 10 Grinder – 3" x 4" hopper opening. Grinds 2 to 3 lbs. of meat per minute.
  • No. 22 Grinder – 4" x 5" hopper opening. Grinds 3 to 4 lbs. of meat per minute.
  • No. 32 Grinder – 5" x 6" hopper opening. Grinds 5 lbs. of meat per minute

    This was a terrible purchase. I wanted an affordable grinder but apparently this was too affordable. The blade completely rusted over after one use even though i dried it right after washing. I would not recommend this product to anyone it is a waste of money.

    #22 manual grinder.
    I've run good ones in the past, this one failed on less than a one gallon bag of venison. End cap popped off and stripped the threads bad enough that it makes the product worthless.
    Expected alot more from a product with cabelas name on it.

    Unit #10, I typically do not complain about an item or return it but, this is the absolute worst item I have ever purchased. After inspecting the unit I did not even run meat through it. I tried to disassemble and clean the unit to find that there was no fitting of the parts just cast and assembled. After putting the unit back together I found that the unit would not turn properly. Due to the lack of proper manufacture the parts would bind on every turn of the handle. Steer clear of this unit

    I Expected Better

    The grinder looks great coming out of the box. All the pieces appeared to fit together without a problem. That's the good news.
    The bad news is it took us 2 hours to grind 4 pounds of pork (Boston Butt) because the plate (3/8") would clog with a thin film of tissue after a few minutes of grinding. After the plate would clog, the ground meat would only come out around the outside edge of the plate. We would have to disassemble the grinder and clean the plate. We also had a problem where some of the ground meat would be black. This might be have been metal shavings from the knife and plate.
    I hate returning items, but I can't see us using this on a regular basis as it is just too time consuming.
