Good Fryer
Date:
Takes about an hour to heat to 400, but works great. I fried 10# of wings and it took a bit to heat back up, but try frying only 5# at a time and it will work great. I don't have any leaks. I set the temp (read the instructions), and have learned not to use the timer and don't have any shut off issues. I've done Wings, Onion Rings, Fish and pork fillets. All good. Is the digital window difficult to read? grab a flashlight. All in all, been using it for about 6 months, and like any tool, figure out how to use it effectively and you'll be satisfied with it. If not, head out to Buffalo Wild Wings.

INNER POT
Date:
I used my electric fryer 3 times and each time it worked great but after the 3rd time I let it cool down and after 5 hrs saw peanut oil had leaked onto my floor. After emptying the oil I noticed numerous pin holes in the bottom of the inner pot. What caused it your guess is as good as mine but overall the unit worked great. Will contact the company and see if this has happened to others before I purchase another inner pot to replace the defected one.

Poor Temperature Read-out, etc.
Date:
The temperature reading was hard to read. I had to be almost directly over the temp read-out or use a flashlight to see it. Generally, all I could see was a read-out of 88.88. In addition, as bird cooked, the temp read-out became increasingly black, maybe from the generated steam, and ultimately became completely black, making it impossible to read the temp. Finally, I have had deep fried turkey done with gas and it has been great. Maybe because you cook with the lid off with gas and iwith the lid on with electric the bird doesn't get really crisp.
