Penn® Senator® Reel

This series of reels is among the strongest big-game reels in the world. Each of the reels in this series has a stainless steel pinion gear with a high-strength bronze-alloy main gear and a multidisc drag system that provides smooth performance. Each also has a heavy-duty clicker and a one-piece rod clamp. The 113 has a corrosion-resistant one-piece graphite composite frame. The 115L has stainless steel ball bearings for smooth performance.

Look out humbolt squid

Purchased this reel for Humbolt Squid and it do the job. The squid we have been catching have been in the 40 to 50 pounds range and we needed a reel that could handle that kind of presure and power. First time out I caugth 3 - 40 plus pound squid in less then 2 hours from 1,000 feet down and was not even tried. Looking forward to using this reel for a long time.

reel was shown to have a torpedo handle.the box also states that but it does not have one.it has a rather flimsy handle instead.does not suit the senator.

115l good for shark

i caught a 765 ib. tiger shark .this reel held up for 7 1/2 hours .best reel iv'e ever used. i love id recomend this to any big game fisherman.
