For nearly a century, Penn reels have been the choice of anglers fighting big fish in big water. The International Torque series of reels carries on Penn’s tradition of innovation by using Integrated Side Plate (ISP) technology. ISP technology puts the reel components into one rigid assembly. This enables the reel to achieve super-high drag capabilities with fewer parts and less stress on the reel. That means you can crank up the drag on a big fish without causing any binding to the main or pinion gears. Or you can choose the 300LD lever drag model, which incorporates a new large-diameter stacked drag cartridge to achieve incredible drag ranges while minimizing the force exerted across the reel. One-piece, open-top frame. Five stainless steel ball bearings stand up to the rigors of saltwater. Infinite anti-reverse roller bearing. Stainless steel main and pinion gears. Oversized, soft-grip handle reduces fatigue on long days.

I got this reel for christmas one year and it is absolutely amazing!! it has a great gear ratio and is great for trolling and bottom fishing. it is my favorite reel out of all 10 of my rods

I bought the TRQ100 in San diego for a trip into mexican waters for skip jack tuna and fell in love with it. I had pair it with a penn three piece travel rod which I also love, and have taken it with me on my deployments on a Submarine and have used it all over.The quality is superb on these reels.I also ended up buying a TRQ300 which on my first day out on the boat slayed a 26lb gray snapper off oahu.Fishing at about 300ft he hit really hard and had my pulse racing, but the snapper was no match for this might Penn and the gear ratio helped bring it from the depths with ease.The Captain said it was the biggest that had been caught on his boat.I beileve there to be no better reels out there for the money than a Penn reel.
I own 1 special senator 9/0, 3 special Senator 6/0, 1 special senator 4/0, 1 special senator 3/0, 2 950ss, 1 975 Int. baitcaster, 1 260 slammer, 1 TRQ100, 1 TRQ300, 1 560 slammer, 1 420ssg and currently waiting for Sargus baitcaster to arrive.I must say I have never had a proble with any of Penn reels.

Although I didnt purchase this reel from
Cabellas I would still like to let everyone know about this reel. It is awesome. I fish it with 80lb powerpro for grouper and red snapper from 80-200 ft of water, live and dead bait. At first I was a little weary of the fast gear ratio, but penn proved me wrong. This reel is no joke. It is heavy without a doubt, but it is built to last! I recently hooked a nice red snapper, laid the forgrip on the rail and ripped this fish up from 126' like a 2 speed in low. The fish weighed in at 18lbs. And absolutly no problems with the drag or anti reverse like i have had with other reels. If you are looking for a quality offshore reel please consider this reel, I think you will be surprised!!

I bought this for my brother and had it at my house for a few days. I checked it out and it looked like a mean piece of equipment. Then I found out he wanted a different reel (Penn 975 CSLD) and bought that one. He won't shut up about the 975. 4 stars because I never used the reel but I could tell it was no joke.
