These extremely durable reels can handle the most demanding conditions in the hands of those who demand the most from their equipment. Six stainless steel ball bearings give them silky smooth performance, increased casting distance and freespool. The cast-control system exclusive to Avet reels prevents backlash. Also unique to these reels is the ability to freespool at full-drag settings. Frame, spool and sideplates are machined from billet 6061-T6 aluminum stock for unsurpassed strength and resistance to corrosion.

I have the MXL 2 speed. Excellent reel for albacore. I have it set up with 65 braid and 40 top shot of flouro and handles the albies well. Very strong drag, picks up line fast, and best of all...Made in USA.

Great Reel

I hav e several of these reels (MXL 6/4) and have used them for trophy rockfish on the bay to 50 lb blue cats in the Potomic to bull dolphin out of OC. They have not failed me yet.

I just purchased the AVET LX 4.6:1 and am going to line it with 650 yds of 50 lb AccuBraid and then finish the spool off with Mamoi 50 lb mono to use as top shot. I chose the Accubraid(made by Accurate)over Powerpro because it is more flexable then powerpro and wont loose strength over time like power pro. it is also made in U.S.A. which is always nice.
the reason i purchased the avet is because it is machined aluminum frame not moled, large spool compacity, great drag, reliable service, made in the U.S.A., and i am sure there is much more that i will discover once i get it in the mail. another good thing about the LX 4.6:1 is that it is a versitle reel. you can use for anything from verticle jigging(althought the 6.0:1 might be more practicle for that), live lining, trolling, chunking, casting, and whatever else you can think of that you would use a conventional reel for.
i have also read reviews/forums that say "if you can spend the extra buck go with the accurates then do it". there are a few downsides to that statement such as that the extra buck is over $150 for the same spool size of a reel.

SO ALL IN ALL GO WITH THE AVET: BEST PRICE, DRAG, QUALITY,GEAR RATIO RANGE, AND MUCH MUCH MORE!

I will do another reviwew once i recieve it.
