lounge chair in the sky!
Date:
I decided to give a tree stand a shot this fall/winter for rifle hunting. Since I plan on rifle and late season muzzleloader hunting only, I decided on the Goliath for the room and it was the proper choice. Plenty of room when wearing a heavy 4-1 parka to both sit and while climbing wearing the bulky jacket, this is truely the all-day lounge chair in the sky!
The upper and lower platforms do not get stuck together due to the larger upper platform when nested together for packing. BUT due to that extra clearance the 2 platforms can bang each other unless you lash it all tightly together before hiking in. This is my first climber and within 30 seconds I was climbing up trees like a expert. The trees I have been climbing are all super straight 2nd growth cherry and the stand is ultra stable. It will see alot of use!

EXCELLENT FOR BIG GUYS!!
Date:
I am 6'2 and 260lbs. I've had the Goliath for 3 seasons now and it is the most comfortable stand I have ever used. Front rail makes it little difficult for sitting draw with my bow so I sawed mine off and wrapped the ends with the camo rail pad. The Goliath didn't seem to lose any structural integrity during climbing. In short...I LOVE IT and you will too!!

Goliath tree stand
Date:
I'm in my fifth year using a Summit Goliath stand for both gun and bow hunting. I hunt public land where stands must be removed at the end of the day, so portability is important to me. I have a big frame so many climbers are not comfortable for me, but I've spent entire days from before sun-up to sun-down in my Goliath. The only thing I've replaced in five years are the cables, which is to be expected from lots of use. If you're a big guy and want a great stand, buy this one.
