I have been an electrician for over 20 years and have had my hands on thousands of light fixtures. This whole series of lights are as well built as they are good looking. Light fixtures are notorious for being flimsy, but these are quite sturdy and easy to install.

We got the Grand River Lodge Pine Cone flush mount light for our family room. We have lots of taxidermied "prizes" on our walls and wanted the "cabela" lodge look...several visitors have commented on how "even the light" matches our room!!!

This light was a perfect fit for our kitchen! Our whole house is full of rustic stuff and this light added a great touch to our kitchen! It's the main lighting source we use in the kitchen, and it's plenty of light for the area. The size is pretty big, bigger than I thought. But I am happy with the size!!

I didn't give this a great rating because, from the get-go I noticed that the packaging was in extremely poor condition. It wasn't that the package had suffered in transit, but that the item had very plainly been opened and then hastily and haphazardly re-sealed...in retail parlance, what they sent me was a "re-pack" or b-stock item. There were wads of random tape all over the thing, and the styrofoam container inside was ripped and shedding little beads of the stuff all over the place. Very poor, and plainly had been opened and then returned for some reason, by another customer.
I also noticed that the silicon sealant around the tabs on the inside of the frosted panels was sloppily applied, to the degree that it makes me wonder if it was somehow repaired; to me, if this type of construction is to be used, it should be applied with a degree of precision and should look as though they actually meant to do it that way. As it is, this looks like an afterthought, or the work of a not-very-bright ten year old.
To be honest, I still haven't installed this light; if I do and it looks and works OK then I'll just accept it, however if I find one more thing that looks less than kosher, I'm going to send this back and probably spend three times as much money to obtain an actual leaded-glass light from someone else.
This is not what I've come to expect from Cabela's, and I hope it's just an anomaly.
