Crossing the Ridge Anyone who has hunted mule deer in the rugged mountains of the American West will appreciate this scene created by Rosemary Millette. It features a tall-tined, wide-racked buck leading a group of three does across the top of a ridge and into the safety of the pine forest in the valley below.

The Loner: A majestic bull moose is shown peacefully eating and drinking his way through a shallow lake, but the smoke coming out of the chimney of the cabin in the background shows he doesn't have the woods all to himself. Jim Kasper's detailed rendition includes a subtle reflection of the moose on the water's surface and the golden highlights of leaves in full fall color.
