Simply Put--The BEST SPPONS on the Market
Date:
I came across Pelican Lure Spoons about 3 years ago. We fish at Lac La Ronge in Saskatchewan every June. Fishing with lead core line and the Fire Red & White (Cabelas doesn't show this spoon) we caught lake trout ranging from 3-17 lbs. While others caught maybe 2-3 a day--we were "killing" them and put an average of over 10 per day. Went pike fishing and used the Perch color--WOW--we caught more pike than you can imagine. Needless to say--these lures have become our FIRST CHOICE! Last year I got a 42" 23 lb laker on the Cisco color. Quality, durability and fishability--what more can ya say! Bob

Pike inhale these!
Date:
I use the pike color phase of this spoon, and the northern's absolutely nail them! Fishing in a 8-9 foot water column, I'll usually use a slow retrieve; keeping the spoon around 4-5 feet deep. It is amazing how the pike will consistently choose this spoon over any others. I have tried 4 other spoons in differing brand and color patterns, and the Pelican Pike spoon out fishes the others 10-1. No question the "experts" are right; that pike are voracious eaters of their own species. I am changing the treble to a single hook, though, as I have had many deep hooked pike, and I choose to release most. I've never changed a hook on a lure because of the aggressive strikes! Just ordered bluegill and crappie colors to see what happens to them.

great fishing
Date:
The Pelican Lures Natural series spoons work great for Pike and Wallleye. I think that being painted on both sides gives the illusion of a real fish. The natural colors worked great for me in clear waters.
