For years the No. 1 spoon in Alaska and the Northwest for salmon and steelheaders, and now this incredible spoon comes in nickel with a wide choice of fish-attracting colors. Heavy precision construction permits long casts and deep retrieves. Per each. Sizes:
When it comes to fishing for salmon and steelhead with spoons, it seems steelhead get lions share of attention from spoon manufactures. Not with Blue Fox Pixie spoons ! These are made specifically for casting for Salmon . Both Chinook and Coho. I caught and released my largest spring chinook on a 7/8's pixie nickle with chartreuse egg sack Pixie. They work ! The newer colors are even better. The pink and orange kills on coho !
The Pixee is the lure of choice for coho salmon in southeast Alaska. I recommend the 1/2 oz or the 7/8 if the water is swift. The lure must be down where the fish are. The Vibrax is also excellent, with a slower retrieval than the Pixee but doesn't cast as far. Also in swift water it has a harder time staying down. I prefer the Vibrax when fishing for kings, in number 5 or number 6. Number 4 is usually preferred for silvers (cohos). Be sure to use a snap and swivel.
