Shakespeare® Ugly Stik® Tiger™ Lite Casting Rods

Tiger Lite Casting Rods feature Howald Process™ Triple-Built™ blanks, with a higher graphite content for lighter weight and smaller-diameter blanks. The result is rods that use a little lighter line and lure weight with actions perfect for jetty and plug fishing. Lite Rods use double-foot Fuji® aluminum-oxide guides with stainless steel frames to stand up to saltwater and Fuji graphite reel seats. Handles have easy-grip cork tape. Stainless steel hook keeper. Five-year limited warranty.

Best big game rod ever

I own many fishing rods, and I love expensive rods for some types of fishing, but when it comes to a heavy power rod, this is the absolute best available. It will cast a 4 oz weight without even trying and it has a light enough tip to still feel like a fishing rod. Great rod.

great rod

I bought this rod for my boat topped with a Penn squall 15. it is very balanced and lite. I use it for striped bass in the bay and handles them cows great. I will be buying another one.

Favorite Catfish Rod

I have owned two of the 7' Tiger lite heavy action casting rods for two seasons now, paired with the abu garcia record and abu garcia 6000 bait casting reels and the rod has become my favorite for fishing for channels and flatheads. Lightweight and durable, yet still capable of throwing heavy baits and landing larger fish. Pennsylvania just legalized the use of three rods so I will be buying a third identical rod.

Great Rod!

I use the 7' H action rod to catch blue cats on the James River. I've caught 'em up to 64# on this pole, and slinging as much as 10 oz of weight, and it has held up like a champ! This rod is the best of both worlds...it can sling big weights and has the backbone to handle big fish, but it is lightweight and has great feel to it. I can still enjoy the fight with smaller fish that I otherwise don't get to enjoy with some of the "broomstick" models I have. I use an Abu 6500 on this and it pairs up well. I think a Shimano Tekota 500 would be another great option on this rod! My only wish would be a slightly longer top grip.
