Shakespeare® Ugly Stik® Big Water Casting Rods

These tough casting rods are designed with the famous Howald Process™ and blank-through-handle construction for superior strength and sensitivity. Durable EVA foam handles and graphite-reinforced reel seats with stainless steel hoods add durability. Big Water Rods have aluminum oxide guide inserts to prevent line abrasion, an epoxy coating to protect from UV rays, and extremely tough Carboloy tip tops. Five-year warranty on Big-Water Ugly Stiks.

the 12'' is excellent for river fishing, in swift currents, behind dams, when turbines are open, it is a very good casting rod, when using large lures.

how my big river ugly stik

so what it comes down to is the best nourthern pike and catfish/gar rode out thare broke as i was landing my 8 lb channel catfish well it least it broke with out lousing the dinner it it still under warrenty from cabellas and have no clue on how to have the warrenty honerd at least the best rod of my life went out in style

I have three of these rods, but the interesting thing is that I don't use them for casting...I use them for trolling. I also have all three set up with line counter reels. Two of them are used to troll surface lures and weighted streamers with a light line. The other one has a larger counter reel and I use it trolling for lake trout with copper wire. They are very sturdy, well made, easy to use and just the right action for those trolling situations. I also like the different color tip, which helps to keep a better eye on the strikes, when they occur. They are a quality product that does the job well.
