Another great UglyStick

I mated this pole with an Abu Garcia 6600 to serve as a surf fishing combo while I am TDY to Greece and my go-to catfish rod when I get back to home. I havent caught anything with it yet but with the drag set correctly I wouldnt worry a bit to lay into any 30-40lb cats

All purpose rod

I love this fishing rod. I use this rod for catfishing and striper fishing I love the long handle as you can cast this rod along ways has excellent sensitivity also. I have also used this rod fishing in saltwater in Florida . I have some higher dollar rods (another mfg.) that I have broken two of them in the summer of 2011 and this rod out performed both of those rods that snapped on larger fish. This ugly stik rod was used in the same fishing condition and has held up without a flaw.
Hats off to Ugly Stik for their Lite Salmon /Steelhead Casting rods Mine is the 8-6 casting rod

The Ugly Stik rods must be some of the best rods if you want strength and durability !! The Ugly Stik lite series is just excellent, with light weight yet in my view uncomparable strength. So far I have fought a few really good pikes and large walleyes on them and they handle these large predators really easily. The rods are light yet strong enough to set the hooks easily on really big fish. I believe it is in the way the Ugly stiks are built with several layers that makes them stronger than most of their competitors rods. Very good rods !!
