Musky Innovations® Casting Rods

  • Generate more hook-setting power
  • 100% t-tech graphite with micro-weave construction
  • Eleven Fuji Alconite guides, Fuji reel seats
  • Portuguese tapered cork handles, longer handles, fore grips
Throwing large muskie baits requires a top quality rod with a lot of backbone for both the cast and the hookup. To meet the tough task of tackling these bruisers, Musky Innovations has introduced a series of muskie rods to handle all techniques. Longer rods make it easier to cast lures farther with less effort, are less fatiguing and make it easier to cast lures farther with less effort. Five powers are available in length from 7' to 8', with an emphasis on longer durable rods. Longer rods also generate more hook-setting power due to the greater sweeping motion of the rod tip. Longer rods also take up slack line and compensate for line stretch and quickly absorb the impact of the hook set. Made of 100% t-tech graphite with a micro-weave construction for both durability and feel. Eleven Fuji Alconite guides are used, instead of the standard eight. Additional guides provides smoother casts, especially with larger lures, and less wear and tear on both the guides and the rods. Fuji reel seats provide a solid platform for anchoring your favorite reel. Portuguese tapered cork handles have longer handles and fore grips for increased comfort and plenty of leverage. One-year warranty.

Good performance, bad customer service
Date:
I bought this rod over a year ago, and it performed well until last weekend, when the tip snapped while casting a TopRaider. I take very good care of my fishing equipment, so I know the rod was not damaged. I contacted Musky Innovations to see about getting a replacement due to a manufacturing defect (or at least getting a discounted replacement), and they won't even call me back. I had a problem with a St. Croix rod a few years ago, and I had a new rod in my hands in a few days. Consider customer service when buying this rod.

Great Rod
Date:
I purchased 8'6" heavy power rod 2 years ago now. I bought it for the rod's overall ability to handle heavy baits. However, I was pleasantly suprised at the rods ability to cast very small and light bucktails as well as anything else i can clip on the leader. Also, I am very hard on my equipment. Generally I fish 3 full days a week and i fish HARD. This rod has stood up to anything I can throw at it. I have now purchased more of these rods and switched over from G-LOOMIS Muskie Series rods.
Good luck fishing

Quality Construction
Date:
My rod met all expectations on quality construction and components. One rod wrap didn't seem to have consistent pressure applied in the wraping. I have not had the rod in action on the water as yet. However, this minor flaw item will not effect performance. A very good rod for the price, and I intend to buy another in the near future.

Good rod for big and medium stuff
Date:
I bought the 8' Super Magnum rod for throwing heavier lures like magnum Bulldawgs and lures up to 10 - 12 oz. This rod works well for that, but also quite well for smaller lures. It's a surprisingly versatile rod. It is somewhat tip heavy, but has to be by nature, and can wear on you a little by days end. Still, an excellent rod that can handle whatever you can stand to throw.
