The A-RB® bearing construction concentrates the rust-resistant chromium component of the stainless steel at the surface of the bearing for added corrosion resistance. Delivers super smooth retrieves, thanks to 10 ball bearings and one roller bearing. The new tapered, titanium-plated levelwind decreases friction even further. Greaseless spool-support bearings. Each has a one-piece aluminum frame with aluminum side plates for lightweight dependability. The Calais puts you in complete control with Shimano’s Variable Brake System™ which uses six adjustable brake weights that you can adjust to fine-tune spool speed to your casting preference.
