Great Reel
Date:
I have the crank bait version and I love it. It is a bit heavy but you can still cast all day. Excellent reel for the price point.

Exceler standard speed
Date:
I am a pretty big Daiwa fan, but I don't particularly like this model. To me they feel heavy and rather large for what they are. The magnetic brake doesn't seem as easy to use as on some of Daiwa's more expensive reels. I give it four stars because I never had any trouble with mine and I know people who use them who have had good luck with their durability. If you don't mind a heavier reel with a magnetic brake, you should get good service out of this reel for it's price.

A Good Reel
Date:
The reel does everything I expected. I have two minor annoyances with it. The fFst Take-down Thumb Screw Shaft interferes with filling the spool and the Spool Tension control cap should have coarser knurling.

daiwa exceler 4:9-1 crankbait reel
Date:
i sent the first reel back to cabela's because it wouldn't adjust down with the mag brake. the spool wouldn't engage all the time.
.
the reel i got as a replacement is to die for. i can't find one thing wrong with it, period.
.
casts great, drag works perfect, if it holds up in cranking strength. . . . . .
.
thought my prodegy was the reel to brag about, not so now.
.
recommend this reel to all.
