The lightweight Squall Star is extremely adjustable and one of the most castable reels in its class. Nice Reel, but a couple things to watch for

This is a solid, well made reel. It operates smoothly, and the fit and finish are excellent. The drag is solid and effective. Three things kept me from giving it 5 stars: First, the rivets that hold the seat flange to the housing have a small gap. If you get a loopy bird's nest using braid, it can catch under these rivets. That stops you from spinning the spool to get to the offending loops. You have to carefully find where it's caught and loosen it from the rivet to continue to untangle. Second is the reel clamp bracket bolts are spaced so closely together they will not allow the clamp to be attached to an average diameter surf rod. Probably not a problem on a boat rod or a fresh water rod, but I fish from the sand. Finally the handle knob is flat and angular instead of the larger more ergonomic handles found on reels like the Diawa Sealine X.
The mag brake and reel tension knobs are easy to adjust. They move through tiny detents that "click" so you can very precisely move either in very small increments. It is a smooth casting reel. The line capacity, even on the 15, is a little limited for long surf casting unless you use braid.
