This was a horrible combo. The rod broke within the first few trips, and don't get me started on the reel. It is not smooth at all, it scratches easy, and the worst flaw there is is after about 30 casts and the spool gets a bit wet it refuses to cast, and makes a horrible screaming noise. And it WILL backlash like you wouldn't believe. Don't waste your money.

Good Rod For Average Angler

This combo is a great deal, its right in the middle of the pack if your looking for a good combo for the money, the rod is kinda stiff so id recommend going a size lighter than what your were planning on getting. i almost returned it right after i bought it since i didn't know how to fix the drag, its a little tricky to get it the way you want it by usingthe brass knob and the drag setup, the reel is great however once you get it how you like it. it will backlash if you don't pay attention, but they are easy to fix so don't worry about it too much. if your bargain shopping id go with the whuppin stik for the money, but if price is no option i would recomend this one

i catch lots of bass at a little pond and this rod does its purpose, not the best but it holds a 5 pound large mouth easily

i ordered this not even a month ago. i pulled it out of the box and the reel was scrached and i went fishing with it and latched on a fish and the rod broke right in half. it backlashes really bad!
