Just getting to your fishing destination can be half the battle, but you can make the trip a lot more convenient by toting these Travel Casting Rods. Boasting all the great features of our standard Salt Striker rods, they break down into three pieces for compact carry and storage. Includes Cordura® covered travel tube. 100% high-modulus graphite construction reduces the overall weight of these rods and provides strength, sensitivity and optimum performance. To improve on these rods, we've outfitted them with Batson's new SS316 guides, made from high-grade stainless steel for better corrosion resistance. And we included premium cork grips for improved sensitivity. Exposed blank graphite trigger reel seats.

Great Travel Rod

I recently used this rod for striper fishing on a trip to Maine. I caught numerous bass up to 12 LBS. The Rod was matched with a Shimano Calcutta 200GTB with 30LB Spectra. The Rod fished as well as my 1 piece.

Cabelas Salt Striker Inshore travel rod

I bought this rod a little over a month ago for saltwater kayak fishing, and matched it to a Shimano Cardiff 301A, loaded with 15# flouro.
I've caught a number of small bonito, surf perch, and rockfish with the combination but today was its first real test. I had a little extra time between a doctor's appointment and having to return to work, so I decided to wet a line off a seawall near my office on San Diego's Point Loma. I had just started my second fan retrieve when a heavy fish struck. After several runs that gave the Cardiff drag a test and doubled my new rod over, I was able to beach a 38" California halibut (21.74 pounds!)
The rod had more than enough backbone to muscle the fish over the rocks, yet was sensitive enough to make the fight fun. I LOVE THE ROD!

Recently purchased this rod so that I could travel with it easily. Comes with a nice zippered top rod case. I used this rod over the course of a long weekend and would never have known it was a three piece rod. This rod performs well, is lightweight and the build quality is good. I got the medium action rod which I am happy with, I would imagine that the heavy action rod would be similar to a flippin' stick. I would have given it 5 stars if it was made in North America.

I purchased the salt striker travel casting rod for my trip to Canada.I needed a rod i could cast big spoons with when i was not fly fishing for big northern pike and lake trout.I needed a rod that would break down so it would fit in my fly rod carry on case.This rod is great,i used it alote during my trip and landed many big lake trout including a 34 pound monster.The rod is tuff,great backbone and it looks great.The guides at the lodge could not believe how the 7ft med casting rod handled the big lake tout and pike.Having a rod of this quality that breaks down to three pieces at this price is great.
