Round minnow traps and their torpedo shape work well in still or flowing water. Constructed of 1/4" galvanized, extruded steel mesh, they have a spring-clip closure and a 1" opening. The two-piece design makes removal of bait easy. Size: 16-1/2"L.
not a bad trap. latches busted off after a few weeks. not hard to fix though, just took a couple zip ties and some wire. i trap in ditches and i've caught crawdads, carp, catfish, bluegill, and a couple bullfrogs in it.
If you are buying a trap to catch minnows, then this is the trap to purchase. If your looking to catch crawfish, then the black one is for you. Side by side, I'll have two-three times more minnows in the galvanized trap vs. black coated trap.
the minnow hole has a round ring on it now that allows the minnows to swim back out of it. the old traps just had the wired in it so when the minnow try to get out it would hit the wire. i have put both traps in the same hole and when i come back the old trap always has more minnows in it.
I am glad I did not expect much when i ordered it, because I did not get much. The trap does not close good, and I am not impressed with the latch. I use plastic zip strips to keep it closed good, expect to have to tinker with it if you order it.
