This cast net is pretty easy to learn on, right off the bat. I've never been good at throwing a cast net but I've never owned one either, at least not until now. I bought the 5 foot old salt cast net earlier this week and I've been practicing with it in the pool all day. The first thing I want to say is that throwing this thing is addictive! it's a pretty good work out if you throw it about a hundred times, which is nice because thats about how long it took for me to get it down really well. That may sound like a lot of work... but when you consider the fact that you can practice with one of these right in your yard, you really don't have an excuse not to learn it before you ever go to the lake. All and all, it opens quickly and sinks like a rock. you'll be catching your own minnows in no time! in this economy it's almost like a miniature bail-out, and it'll pay for itself in no time!
