Versatility
Date:
The Hitch-Haul folding receiver bar gives you the versatility of using a standard cargo carrier, towing a trailer, or both at the same time. The fold-up cargo carriers that I looked at require you to remove your carrier and leave-it-at-home if you want to tow something. With this receiver bar, you can have your cake and eat it to so to speak. It is very well constructed, and will handle anything that my vehicle is capable of hauling and/or towing. It does extend the cargo carrier behind the vehicle, and you may want to shorten the cargo carrier receiver bar to move your load closer to the rear of the vehicle. But, it does raise the carrier up, and gives you additional rear ground clearance. I've hauled some heavy loads with my wife's van in my unmodified cargo carrier in some places that I was certain it would drag, but it didn't. For my own convenience, I'm thinking about buying another one for my vehicle that I use for hunting and fishing.

Light weight/poor design
Date:
I purchased this unit to use with the Super-Mag-Hitch-Haul. The unit is poorly designed as the Super-Mag rubs the bumper of my GMC Yukon when it is in the upright position. You have to remove the Super-Mag and turn it around to avoid damage to the vehicle. The receiver bar fits loosely into the car, and the light weight construction is certainly not anything I would trust for towing a trailer with. This unit could be greatly improved by using heavier metal and adding about 2 inches to the length of the bar that fits into the cars' trailer hitch. Good idea, but poor construction.

Hitch-Haul folding receiver bar
Date:
This product delivers as advertised. It is easy to transport in the folded up position and folds down in a second to utilize the receiver carrier. A must have for those who need extra cargo carrying capabilities on a temporary basis.

Good solid product
Date:
Good solid product. The only problem I have had so far is the pin is hard to get in and out.
