Each high-quality knife boasts a Sandvik 12C27 steel blade and a rugged, easy-to-grip rubber handle. Fixed knives have high-strength, full-tang blades for durability. Nylon sheath included. Imported. Available:
Drop-Point Skinner
Blade length: 3-5/8". Overall length: 8-3/8".
Gut Hook Blade length: 3-5⁄8". Overall Length: 8-1⁄4".
The sheath is a really cheap nylon model that is barely adequate. I worry about it dulling the knife when you insert or remove the knife.
I like the handle. It is bright orange, so it is easy to see if you set it down in the dark. It has a great shape that makes it easy to work carefully with the tip or apply pressure. The rubber helps your grip. I think that one more rivet in the handle would improve it, but overall the handle is a strong point for this knife.
The blade is Sandvik steel (12C27). It looks like good steel that will hold an edge. The blade is thick with a deep taper to the edge. The factory edge is not super sharp and I am still working on getting it as sharp as a skinning knife should be. The back of the blade has ridges, not to saw with, but to improve your grip when you use the point of the knife. It is a strong full tang blade.
Overall I like the knife, hate the sheath. The blade and handle are good quality. You could probably do better at this price, but I do like the knife. After I make a new sheath and get a good edge on it the knife it will probably be a great knife.
