What the pictures don't show, and what the text doesn't mention, is that this iron is very little - inside dimensions are 2 1/2" by 3" by 1 1/4" high. Way too small for a sandwich bread like is shown in the picture - you could probably cook a toasted cheese sandwich in it - one quarter at a time... I'm sending it back.

This is a great item for car camping because you can cook up a meal quickly over the campfire. It's a great one person fry pan / cooker. No messy dish washing, just wipe clean when you are done. It makes real good toasted sandwiches and the recipe booklet that comes with it tells you how. I have fried up vegetables, onions and the like. Great in the morning to toast or fry up a meal using your propane cook stove, instead of starting up a campfire. Handy, small and portable, super easy cleanup.
