Cabela's Oval Roaster

Crafted of pre-seasoned cast iron, this roaster/griddle combo makes a versatile addition to your outdoor cookware. Use it for roasting meat for dinner or grilling up a hearty camp breakfast. Roaster measures 17"L x 9-3/8"W x 4"D and holds 12 quarts. The lid doubles as griddle and measures 17"L x 8-3/8"W.

Versatile Roaster by Cabela

After much searching, I finally found this robust cast iron roaster which is very well made. The lid fits snugly around the entire circumference of the pot. Also, because the lid is flat, and not dome-shaped, and has no protruding handles on the outside top, it can be flipped over to use as a skillet, which is very convenient. I also use it completely flipped over as a type of oven. At 25+ lbs, it's obviously not for backpacking. Deep enough for a couple of chickens. Especially like that it arrived pre-seasoned.

loved the oval roaster, wished it had a hanger on it though, also it is kinda hard to get it open, but I love the way the food taste. I would definitely recommend it for a friend.

Wonderful item

I gave this to my wife. She usually isn't excited for me to shop at Cabelas, BUT, she was excited to get this as a gift. She really like it that it came seasoned. That was big deal to her. She will use it as a big roaster to put in the oven instead of using a crock pot. She loves the size of it as it will hold enough for a family of six. Of course it is heavy, it is cast iron--not aluminum.
