Bought the 3 burner stove last year and got 3 of these to install. The kits would not fit as indicated as burner tube is in the way. Had to heavily modify a bracket and pop rivet to panel. Flexes when pushed and requires cautious pressure to ignite.
We live in Alaska and do an anual moose hunt. After my husband "installed" these I knew they wouldn't make the trip in our tundra rigs out to moose camp and work right. I was right. Very poor design! I was very disappointed with this product. I could not get these to stay lined up to ignite the burners. Most of the time they did not even spark. I removed them and went back to a spark lighter that I have had for years and plain ol' wood matches. These things are not even worth the time, effort and postage to send them back. They went in the garbage. I would not have rated this product one star but it was a required field. I really do enjoy cooking on the Camp Chef Stove though.
This design is without a doubt the worse I have ever seen! The igniter don't get inserted into the round holes as you would've guessed... First you need to attach a bracket to the outside the stove, then the igniter is mounted 90 degrees to the bracket, then the igniter gets attached to a wire that goes thru the round hole which in turn ignites the burners. Here lies the problem... The igniter attaches to this wire with a 90 degrees joint made of rubber or plastic, but it doesn't keep the two connected as securely as it should. Sometimes as you press the igniter button, the 2 come apart and gives you a good zap instead of igniting the burners.
I had purchased these (3) for my three burner unit and found that the design is not what I would have imagined. The frame has holes drilled through them like the from of a regular BBQ but, No this is not the way the ignitors go in they are screwed to the side of the unit and then you have to thread the electrode thru the other hole and then get it close to the burner w/o it touching. Really thought it should be more straight foward and just use the hole in the frame for the ignitors to snap in place and not have to use a 90 degree apparatus to make it work.
