JEALOUSY
Date:
Wow. Was worth every penny. My friend and i set it up in his backyard to air it out for the first time. ( up in 30 minutes) But now for the second time 20 minutes. There is no comparison to any other tent. My friends joked around and said hurry up and take it down before the tax collector comes by and makes you start paying tax's on it. Yes you could live in this if the need arose. End of Days. lol.

Awesome Tent
Date:
I cannot express how much I love this tent. I agree with most of the reviewers. It is heavy and the instructions aren't the best, but it's not that hard to figure out. You should set it up prior to your first camping trip, just to learn how to do it and also to water proof it. We set it up in our yard and I sprayed it lightly with a garden hose and let it dry to waterproof it- that's all you have to do. We left it up for a week. It held up to treacherous rain, hail- yes, hail, and decent wind gusts. We purchased extra stakes and created additional guy lines to keep the awning taut. You CAN touch the sides and top, despite what other reviewers have said. It does not leak. This tent is sturdy and made to last.
We then took it camping. Setting it up does take a little time but I imagine it gets easier each time. It took two of us about 45 minutes to completely set up the tent and screen enclosure. I read somewhere to have the Kodiak emblem on the screen facing in. I'll have to try that next time to see if it works better. It was a bit chilly when we camped. It got down in the low 30s. The first night, we easily fit 3 standard cots and all of our gear in the tent with room to spare. Cots are nice because you can store your things underneath. We used a small heater on low and stayed warm and toasty. We had two teenage boys in another tent- a "cheap" nylon tent with a heater and the poor boys said they froze, so they decided to sleep in our Kodiak. We didn't have room for their cots so they slept on the floor in their sleeping bags- 3 cots and 2 teenage boys on the floor, no problem. We actually had to turn off the heat that night because the body heat alone kept us warm enough. I can't wait to try this tent in warm weater. The windows are huge and you can open them as much or as little as you want. The zippers on this thing are obviously made to last.
I just don't have anything bad to say about this tent, other than the weight, so if you want to do some backpacking, I'm sure you can find specialty tents for that purpose. This tent is made to last, is great for family camping, and can be set up for an extended period of time or even for a weekend campout.
I can see us enjoying this tent for many, many years.

Wow!

What a great tent! Luckliy, I read the other reviews on how to set up the screen porch portion, so set up was a breeze. My son (11) and I had it set up in under 30 minutes. We used it for over a month while we were having constuction done in our home, so we basically lived in it during the day. We survived cold, rain, and pollen in early spring. I would recommend this to everyone (providing you aren't hiking with it, as it is incredibly heavy).

AMAZING TENT
Date:
This tent rendered me almost speechless when I set it up. After only setting it up twice my wife and I can set it up in 30 minutes and I have nothing but good to say about it. I am 6'2" and don't like crawling in my tent, this is not an issue anymore I can stand up in this beast with my lantern hanging and still not hit my head. We only use the main door under the awning and we easily fit a queen size air mattress and a twin sized air mattress in with plenty of room to spare. If you want to be comfortable and cozy and stay dry this is the only way to go. Thank you for one best products I have purchased in a very long time craftsmanship is second to none this tent is built to last.
