Pretty Bad at Best

I purchased this sampler for breakfast over the Holidays. It was really not fit for serving to guests. It seemed that the various bacon products were seconds and some leftover partial pieces. We have also in the past purchased wild game steaks or roasts which were excellent...but this specific product should be avoided.

All four packs were so sloppily sliced; there's no uniformity in the bacon slices and you end up with an awful lot of chunks and threads of meat that just make a mess in the pan. Even getting the pieces out of the plastic was a challenge as most of the meat wasn't cut at the ends. There are no instructions included with any of the food so if you've never cooked beef bacon or buffalo bacon you might want to do some homework first; if you cook these like regular bacon you will end up with a burnt mess and no meat to eat. Perhaps they are already cooked? Doesn't say anything on the packaging. The pork bacon wasn't anything special either; just unevenly cut shreds of fat, really. This was a terribly disappointing gift and I won't be buying any more bacon products from Cabela's.
