I grew up fishing with the little Zebco 33's, and this Zebco 808 bowfishing reel performs just as dependably. Would definitley recomend it to a friend.

Nice Purchase

I used this reel for the first time today, borrowing it from a friend. The reel worked amazing, as long as you remember to click the release. The line shoots out very smoothly, and as long as you keep the line tight it wont get tangled, just like a regular reel. If you hit the fish, there isnt any point in trying to reel in 20+ pounds of deadweight. I always habe somebody with me, and while I pull up the fish, they reel in the line, and it stays untangled. Having read the other reviews, I'm guessing most were operator error.

I have used this reel in fresh water and it never lets me down,, great product at a great price too,,iv caught plenty of pike,bass super reel

Amazing Reel

I just got started using this reel due to recently starting bowfishing thanks to a great friend. This product works great. Haven't had any problems with the exception of forgetting to push the release button before shooting and losing my arrows but chalk that one up to operator error or stupidity lol. Reel works great, no complaints at all. Smooth letting out line and no problems reeling in the fish on the other end of the line. Will be buying another one as soon as I get my dad talked into going with us.
