MotorGuide® Wireless Bow Mount Motor with Built-In Lowrance® Transducer – W75

Simplify your fishing boat by combining your trolling motor and sonar transducer into one unit with this series of motors from MotorGuide. Plus, you keep the wireless features of your trolling motor in the process. That allows you to run the trolling motor from any one of four wireless control units from anywhere in the boat. This rugged and reliable motor is built for big water applications. The composite shaft is 33% stronger than anything on the market and is connected to a nearly industructible motor head and cable grip connection. The extruded aluminum Quick Release Mounting Plate allows for quick and easy removal. The digital wireless remote pedal capability of the 24-volt motor gives the best thrust at variable speeds and quietest operation than any competing motor with similar thrust levels. Foot control operation means you can turn left and right, on/off, faster or slower all with your foot – standing or sitting. Built into the motor is Lowrance 200 kHz transducer that is compatible with any Lowrance 6-pin transducer connection. Other connectors for Lowrance, Garmin, and Vexilar units are also available. Motor backed by a three-year warranty.

Motorguide W75 Works as advertized
Date:
Used the W75 Motorguides Wireless series for last years fishing season and it works as advertized. Seemless wireless control from anywhere in the boat, quick steering responce, easy to stow and deploy, and Plenty of power to move my 16ft Lund. The built in Lowrance transducer work awsome with my LMS 520c fish finder. My next boat will have a Motorguide on it.

The motorguide W75 is junk. It came on my new boat, I had it out 6 times and I noticed a few cracks in the front nose cone. I dropped it off at the motorguide approved shop to get fixed at the end of May. Still haven't gotten it back, they are waiting on the parts from Motorguide. I called the factory and they gave me the run around, apparently this is a flaw in the model and is quite common. I used MinnKota for twenty years and never had an issue. Save yourself a headache and get a MinnKota.

Motorguide Wireless 75

Well, I really like this motor for the lightweight, powerpacked, and wireless features. I have it on a 20 foot Tahoe deck boat and it moves it well and the 60" shaft is well below the waterline. It is great to be able to pull the motor off so easily for storage or cleaning the boat. I also really like the remote key fab.
However, about the third trip made I had several cracks develop in the leading edge of the motor housing. I have no idea how they got there, although the box was damaged a little during shipping. I thought it might have been due to shipping and when it sat outside in the 100* temps Memorial Day weekend they cracked further. When I puilled the motor back into the boat I would get some nasty black water draining from the shaft. That stuff was sticky and wasn't easy to clean from the boat.
I called Motorguide and they suggested I bring it to a local warranty repair dealer. The wait time was 5-7 weeks, which is rediculous for a motor that costs this much. Anyway, I called the local Cabelas store and they said I could bring it in and get a refund. Cabelas has always been good to me.
I am going to order a new one and hopefully it will hold up over time. My last Motorguide was built like a tank and never gave me a problem in five years. I would have given it five stars if not for this problem.

Good Value
Date:
For the money, this is a great trolling motor. It has plenty of power to manuver my 21' deck boat with 4 grown men anywhere around the lake, even in windy conditions. It does take some getting used to if you are not used to a wireless controller. If your looking for a great value of a trolling motor that you can control from anywhere on your boat, this is the one. I did show off with the handheld controller at the docks when I let the boat drift off and I had the keys in my pocket. I told the guys in the boat that they would have to paddle back, then I just used the hand held controller and brought the boat back.
