I've used one of these for several years now on at least a dozen scope mountings and optics changes on calibers ranging from .22 to .45-70 and have had great results. I bore sight in my basement using the supplied reflective target and have always been on paper and close to zero at the range. I only gave it four stars because it doesn't work with .17 HMR. Not sure if reviewers who panned product expect exact zero when they first go to the range - if so, they will likely be disappointed with any boresighter.

first boresighter

this is the first boresighter I have tried and it took a few minutes to get it to fit in the bore right. But after I did and sighted my scope in and then took it to the range it was very close. A few days latter I sighted another rifle in but just sighted it in my house about 15 feet away. Took it to the range and it was several inches off. So you need to follow the instructions exactly.

This is my first boresighter. I was hoping to get on target then fine tune at range. Set up was easy, but 3 differant rifles, from .22LR to AR15 .223 all were at least 6 to 8inches low, alignment was good. After I sighted in at range I came back to house pur boresighter on, and it was still off 6 to 8 inches. I rechecked instruction and did follow them correctly. I was disappointed in this one. Maybe I will try another type

I BOUGHT THIS WITH THE HOPE OF ITS MULTI-USE CAPABILITY. WELL WHEN I USED IT ON MY WIFE'S RIFLE. IT WOULD FALL IT AND THE DOT WAS ALL OVER THE PLACE. I BROUGHT IT BACK THE SAME DAY. IT WAS A HUGE WASTE OF TIME.
