Great Product
Date:
Have had this finder for about three weeks now, and I am very satisfied with it. At first I was hesitant to get it because of some of the reviews, but the sale price was to good not to take a chance. Seems the one problem people were having was the accuracy of the GPS measuring movement of the boat. Yet I've found that it seems to do so very accurately. Maybe because of upgraded software? Don't know but it hasn't been a problem with the unit I have, and all other functions work as they should as well. And, I really like the large screen display.

Problem with correct speed readout.
Date:
Everything about this unit IMHO is great except the speed readout. The speed readout jumps between .2 mph to 3 mph even if the boat is not moving.
I very seldom troll so I'm not real concerned about this defect but if I was a troller I would be very upset and I would send it back for a full refund.

Disappointed.... somewhat.
Date:
This unit does many things well. Unfortunately, the one thing I need the most, it doesn't do well. And that is to give me an accurate speed when trolling. Like an earlier post states, the speed jumps all over the place, but very seldom stays on the speed you are actually moving. Also, when using the navigation to get from waypoint to waypoint, the needle also is all over the place. An earier 595c Humminbird unit I had marked the trolling speed exact. That unit died and I replaced it with this one. Now, I'm back to using my hand held gps for speed as well as this unit to compare the two. I troll on Lake Superior and like anywhere, the speed you do it at is most important. This unit isn't much help for that. Appears great for other things, but not that. I put I would not recommend this to others, but only if the other people need it for trolling. Other than that, appears okay.

What a combo for the money
Date:
Humminbird is Lakemaster compatible now and it has put me right on the structure and the fish. I also got the portable kit and ice transducer. For me the circular flasher screen is easier on the eyes than the regular flashers, and is more versatile when ajdusting for the depth you are in and the zoom. You also have the GPS built in for finding your spot without carrying more equipment.
