Penn® Power Stick® Boat Spinning Rods

Penn has taken its popular Power Stick Rod series and added the Integrated Solid Tip design on these spinning rods. The result is a tip that combines the action and sensitivity of tubular glass with the superior durability of a solid tip, while the blank-through-butt construction offers a better feel. Fuji® Hardloy® guides and tip top let line slide nearly friction-free. One-year warranty.

Good Rod
Date:
Bought this rod, kind of an overkill for fluke/flounder but I don't want a cheap rod when a doormat is on the line. Bought it at the store when I got home I noticed the top eyelet was missing the insert. I didn't bother shipping it back. I just had it fixed. Been out twice with it since then. Nice rod, nice feel to it.

Tough Stick
Date:
I bought this rod to use for jigging for yellowtail. I use a medium size reel and 50# braid and jigs of about 5 ounces. It has performed well and has a lot of backbone to get the fish off of the rocks. It is not a great caster though. With some of my other rods I am able to cast the same jigs about 80 yards and this rod throws them about 50 yards. A good tough rod overall.

Penn power stick
Date:
I am using this rod to catch nabeta bottom fishing on Maui. The rod is stiff enough for to bring in large fish and allows me to use heavy sinkers to get my line to the bottom when the current is stong.

poor eyes
Date:
this rod has plenty of backbone and casts as good as any heavy boat rod. however if you use fireline or any braid it will go right through the cheap guides on this rod. very upsetting for something from penn although you get what you pay for and this is the cheapest rod they offer. if you want real penn quality buy one of the better rods
