FRED LOVES TO SWIM
Date:
I PURCHASED THE PAWS ABOARD PET LADDER THIS SPRING.
I HAD READ THE REVIEWS ABOUT IT AND WAS NOT QUITE SURE IF I WANTED TO SPEND THAT MUCH CASH ON IT.
SOME OF THE REVIEWS DIDNT LOOK THAT GREAT.
I WENT AHEAD AND BOUGHT IT AND JUST GOT A CHANCE TO TRY IT OUT TODAY. WE HAVE A LARGE PONTOON BOAT
AND I MOUNTED IT ON THE REAR LADDER.
FRED LOVES TO DOCK DIVE, HE IS A YELLOW LAB AND WEIGHS IN AT 121 LBS. I MOUNTED THE LADDER ON THE BACK OF THE BOAT AT HOME WITH THE BOAT ON THE TRAILER. I PUT A WOODEN BENCH BEHIND THE LADDER SO FRED COULD GET UP ON THE BENCH AND THEN TRY WALKING UP THE LADDER. AFTER A FEW TRIES HE FIGURED IT OUT.
TODAY AT THE LAKE, I WAS ABLE TO INSTALL THE LADDER OUT IN THE LAKE WITH THE WIND BLOWING IN JUST A FEW MINUTES. FRED DOVE OFF THE BOAT, SWAM BACK OVER TO THE LADDER, AND CLIMBED BACK IN ON THE FIST TRY.
HE WENT IN AND OUT OF THE BOAT MORE THAN A DOZEN TIMES AND IT WORKED GREAT.
LIKE WITH ALL THINGS THAT ARE BUILT UNIVERSAL, THEY DONT FIT PERFECT. BUT IF YOU FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS, TAKE YOUR TIME AND FIT IT THE BEST YOU CAN TO YOUR BOAT, AND MOST OF ALL TAKE THE TIME WITH YOUR DOG TO TEACH HIM HOW IT WORKS, YOU SHOULD HAVE GOOD LUCK WITH THIS PRODUCT.
THE LADDER STORES FAIRLY SMALL WHEN YOU FOLD IT IN HALF. HARDWARE IS ALL STAINLESS STEEL AND PLASTIC.
ALL IN ALL, FRED IS VERY HAPPY WITH HIS NEW PAWS ABOARD LADDER SO HE CAN CONTINUE HIS DOCK DIVING FROM THE PONTOON BOAT.

Very pricey, didnt work as well as I thought. We have a german shepherd, golden retreiver and boxer and for the most part we were pulling them up this ladder, or pulling them up the side. I feel it kept slipping and just didnt work. I returned it and I am looking for something that will work without having to get soaking wet.

big and bulky. will not work properly on my boat that has only one step on the ladder. still working on some kind of modification. will have to see what happens later in the year when I can get into the water and try to make it work. guess the biggest thing about it is that it is big and bulky and takes up precious space on the boat.

Thanks for the pontoon review
Date:
This thing is just priced too high. I wish someone would design
a ladder for a 65# dog for a pontoon boat that would work and
not cost an arm and a leg, maybe just a foot.
