Cabela's Northern Flight™ Dog Ladder

  • Handy fold-in/fold-out design
  • Deploys and recovers in less than 5 seconds
  • Easy mount with intergrated C-clamps
Give your best hunting partner a paw up when it's time to climb back into the duck boat with this handy fold-in/fold-out Dog Ladder. Your dog can swim right up to the ladder and easily join you again in the boat by climbing a few short, easy steps. It measures 14-1/4" at its widest point and conveniently mounts to your transom or bow with integrated C-clamps (2-1/4" wide). Deploys and recovers in less than five seconds. When it's time to move simply fold it up and into the boat without having to remove clamps. Frame is steel with a corrosion-resistant finish. 12"-wide steps are covered in marine-grade carpet. Ladder angle is adjustable. For dog use only.

Junk!
Date:
This item is poor quality. The unit had to be built up twice in the first season. Spend some more and don't buy this item.

Lousy design and construction
Date:
The clamps that attach to the boat are ineffective and poorly designed with the bolts getting bent on the first day of use. The wooden steps easily became disconnected during the first season's use, as well. My dog is about 90 pounds and he has a hard time making it up the ramp due to the flimsiness of the design. I'll be using this again this year simply because I don't want to spend the money on a different ladder. However, I'll have to repair it and be careful with it all season long.

Total junk
Date:
This ladder was terrible. Parts were missing, and it had fallen apart in transit, so I had to drill and rebolt the entire thing once it got here. When I put it on my boat, it bent the side in and left a great big dent just from my dog walking up it once. You couldn't even adjust it enough to fit over the bow. The final word: DON"T BUY THIS DOG LADDER!

Great idea needs more work
Date:
Purchased 2 years ago rebuilt twice. Went together easily, too easily, as it also came apart quickly. Steps screw from the bottom the second step popped off the second time the ladder was dropped into the water. Not enough stand off for the front of a pointed boat. We run a 14' runabout with 2 guys and a dog. Without enough stand off the ladder went vertical in deeper water and was useless. We bolted the steps down with larger washers and metal cross bracing to prevent torque also reported here. Standoff was increased with half of a lawn mower handle purchased from a junk yard for $5. Clamps to the gunwale but needs to be re adjusted a few times or it will fall off. Great idea but needs much more work.
