Cabela's Tuff Coat Non-Skid Coating

  • Works great on boat and pontoon floors
  • Great for utility trailer beds
Increase the traction on the bottom of your duck boat, blind or dock and gain a sure footing the next time you head out in the frosty, rain-soaked wetlands with this easy-to-apply liner. Made from a recycled rubber compound, this highly durable coating also places a protective film over the metal of your boat's floor to muffle the noise of dropped items and scuffling feet when you're preparing for a shot. The nonflammable, chemical-resistant layer lasts for years in harsh, cold conditions and is even resistant to the corrosive effects of saltwater environments. Simple, two-step roll-on application.

    Cabela's Tuff Coat Non-Skid
    Date:
I researched this product and several others on the Internet. I desided to give Cabela's Tuff Coat Non-Skid a try. (Yes... I read ALL 57 reviews posted here). I used Tuff coat on the inside deck and floor of my 1965, 17' Boston Whaler. I prepped the flat surface by sanding with 100 grit. I then prepped the non skid by using a wire brush (lots of fun). Finally a nice acid tone wipe down. The next stage was a strong base primmer intended for fiberglass and marine steal structures. After a day for the primmer to dry I started coverage. The mixing was not a hard as other reviews stated. I follow one guys advice and went to my local paint store to use there mixer. Then when I started application I mixed for another few minutes with a drill till I could see rubber was suspended in the paint. This product covered nicely on the flat surfaces in the bow. The deck did require a bit more product to cover the nonskid. I had enough in one gallon can too cover the entire floor, flat fore deck and top rail with TWO coats. I still have 1/ 6 the of the can left. Every time I poured more into the paint tray I mixed the gallon can again. I also used there suggested roller witch I think is a must. My conclusion is.... This is a easy to uses... pricier... product with a great out come.

    Not worth the money
    Date:
I purchased this product a month ago at the store along with recommened primer. I sanded interior of boat and pressure washed. We applied primer let cure for 48 hours. Then applied tuff coat looked good, put on three coats. We were using it on a duck boat. Did not not use the boat for two weeks till opener. The first day out peeled off all the ribs on bottom of boat. From what I can tell primer never stuck to boat. Starting to peel on the rivits as well.

    works but....
    Date:
i picked up a couple gallons for a tri-haul that i replaced the floor in. it rolled out very nice and i am happy with the texture that it ends up with. the only drawbacks that i came across is i thought that it was going to be thicker than it came out to be but that is not why i gave it a 2 star rating. the 2 star rating is from where i built a casting platform in the front of the boat and used silicone to seal it up around the edges. i primered it and painted over it but when i pulled the masking tape off the side of the boat it pealed the paint up in some areas.

    plague
    Date:
I spent alot of time preparing the surface for this application. It rolled on well with the first and second coat. It looked exellent. I put the aluminum boat away for the wintertime & when i got it out this spring it appeared to have shrunk and cracked in some places. It has since been rained on and bubbled up, it is completely ruined. I should have known better its waterbased. Avoid it like the plague. I would like my money back but not worth the hassel.
