I purchased an older aluminum boat that had a crack in the keel and a lot of leaking rivets. I tried using Aluminum Brazing Rods to seal up the crack and the leaking rivets. I wasn't sucessful and burned 2 additional holes in my boat. The Brazing rods didn't produce a waterproof seal. I saw an ad for Cabela's Aluminum Boat patch and decided to give it a try. I am amazed at how easy it was to apply and it looks as though it will work. I haven't leak tested the boat on the water yet but it passed the leak test of putting water in the boat here in my yard. I'll leak test in in the water at a river soon and post the results of that, but overall it appears that this is a wonderful, easy to use product to repair leaks in Aluminum Boats.
It did work well after using it. We had a major leak problem in our old big fisherman in the seams. It did work well, but i recommend that you don't order this online, due the the "insane" shipping cost. If you're using this stuff on the seams and not the ribits on stick can cover about 7 feet of the boat.
i never write reviews unless im extremely happy with the product . it worked in 34 degree weather, fixed all 7 rivet leaks, a half of stick did all the rivets on the bottom of my 12' jon boat, didnt take long to do, and really easy. i would recommend it to a fried its worth the money BUY IT.
