    Fine for a Small Boat Anchor

    I have an 8' Final Attack boat that I fish out of. I bought the 5' piece of 5/16" black coated anchor chain for THE ANCHOR for my little boat. I tied a 50' piece of 1/4" braided camo rope directly to the anchor chain, and in still water, even with a stiff wind, it holds great! Haven't used it in any current yet, but I'm ASSUMING that it may not hold well...time will tell. So far, I have a SmallWater anchor that's subdued in color and DEAD SILENT. The coated chain is High Quality!!!

    The chain is the right length, weight, and color. It seems to be durable and well made. I plan to use this product in Canada and the U.S. I am very pleased with the quality of this product.

    stiff chain

    I returned this chain to Cabelas since it was not what I expected. I needed a chain that could be coiled or wadded up into a small space. This vinyl coated chain was more like a rubber snake. The individual links are vinyl coated (glued) together and really can not move independent from the adjacent links. I'm sure this product would be fine for people who are happy if the chain remains essentially straight all the time.
