Well, I ordered this game for a family of 6, ages ranging from 6 to 44, including three avid outdoorsmen/women. I thought it would be a great activity for my 6 yr old son and my boyfriend's three teenage children, along with us parents, to try. The game itself is set up nicely and has entertaining, but not extremely challenging questions. I definitely do not think you have to be an expert at hunting, fishing or outdoor activities in general to be considered a level-4 player. I am a city girl and I knew a lot of the level-4 answers. Overall, the questions were suitable for all of us.
The only thing I didn't like is that you only get asked a question if you land on the spaces with green footprints. If you land on white footprints, the next player goes and no question is asked. The majority of the spaces have white footprints, so a player could easily get from start to finish and only have to answer one or two questions in the process. That makes the game go by extremely fast and it can be very boring to those players who keep landing on the white footprints.
We just changed the rules, and said that a player gets asked a question on every turn, no matter what color the footprints are on that space. That slowed the game down and let us all test our knowledge of the outdoors. Much more fun that way. Ironically, the city girl won!
I received the game as a gift. I thought that there would be more questions regarding camping/outdoors, but they are mostly questions about animals. The game can be played by players of different ages/knowledge levels at the same time, though, which is nice. Overall, fun game, but wish it had more camping/outdoor activity questions.
Our family loves to camp so this game was a hit. Kids are encouraged with the different level of cards. We played three games in one day. Buy yours today.
This board game is fun for the whole family. The four levels can be challenging even for the novice hunter. I realized I'm smarter than the average bear. It's great to finally find a game my husband doesn't dread playing on family game night!
