This manual contains 120 pages of informative data on all the popular black powder cartridges. Written by NRA champion shooters Mike Venturino and Steve Garbe. Contains data for over 20 calibers as well as ballistic coefficients and tables.
The book sent to me was the latest edition revised in Jan 2009. Book provides a starting load info on some common and not so common BP cartridges. Provides valuable insight on aspects of what makes for an accurate BPCR load, such as the bullet lube, primer choices, and settling on the right bullet for the rifle's barrel. Also this book is meant to cater to single shot rifles, but some topics such as how to deal with black powder fouling is applicable to other black powder arms.
The only negative I have about the book is that at the back of the book it provides a list of vendors for some BP cartridge supplies and quite a few of the vendors have been out of business for a few years....
However, this book does provide more reloading data than the Paul Matthew's BP book. I have quite a few of Paul Matthew's books and this one from Garbe and Venturino. If you could only pick one, I would pick up this book from SPG.
