100 yards and beyond
Date:
I am not the most accomplished shooter, especially black powder, but this gun makes me look like it. I have always loved shooting with open sights and love to hunt with them. It never lets me down and I am kinda lazy when it comes to cleaning it. Great gun for beginners and pro's alike!

Great Shooting Rifle
Date:
I've owned one of these rifles for 16 years and have taken deer every hunting season over that time. This is an excellent shooting rifle, consistently shooting 3" groups at 100 yards, often putting several round balls through the same hole. I believe this rifle shoots better than I'm able to aim through the iron sights. The only negative is the wooden ramrod, which will wear out fairly quickly with regular use. I'd suggest swapping it out for a fiberglass rod, although I used the provided wooden one for many years without problems.
Overall, an outstanding weapon for a more traditional shooter.
