Excellent muzzleloader bullets

After a great deal of research I selected this bullet for my first KS muzzleloader deer hunt. Although we'll be returning in November looking for a shooter buck, I did shoot a do and the deer never took a step and dropped straight down. The damage as a result of the bullet was amazing, which is what I wanted so I could locate anything I shot. The entry hole was about the size of a golf ball, at 50 yards, and a little bit bigger upon exit. These are very accurate as I had about a 2 inch group at 100 yards shooting off my hard case, no lead sled. This bullet has been highly recommended to all my friends!

Over the years, I have tried several bullets in my Omega, trying to get some decent hunting load patterns. I settled on two different bullets that produced acceptable, but not really great results. After getting fairly good patterns and an outstanding kill on a wild boar with a Barnes Expander MZ, I decided to try the T-EZ bullet to see if I could get a tighter group. The Expanders were producing groups just under 3". Today, the T-EZ shot a 1 1/8" group for me (at 100 yards) using 105 grains of Blackhorn 209. This bullet works!

These sabots used with Blackhorn powder makes my Omega shoot like a rifle. With a clean barrel off the bench, the first 3 shots pretty much touch, I can shoot up to 8 shots and still hold about a 2.5" group at 100 yards. The t-ez sabot goes down the bore very nicely, unlike the Barnes sabots of the past which shot well but I snapped rods trying to get them to seat.

This bullet wouldn't shoot better than a 2" group at 100. now i'm sure some of you just like the olde timers at the hunt club think that is as good as you're going to get out of a smoke pole. I gave the Barnes expander mz a go and they are awesome. I fined tuned my T/C Triumph just like you would any other high power rifle. I prefer the 250gr although the 300gr shoot just as well.
