Nikon Monarch X Binoculars

  • Advanced dielectric high-reflective multilayer prism coating
  • Improved light-gathering qualities
  • Exceptional balance and light weight
  • Large focus knob provides fast subject acquisition
  • Rubber-armored coating makes for a nonslip grip
Nikon’s Monarch X series is the next generation in binoculars. They incorporate Nikon’s advanced dielectric high-reflective multilayer prism coating, a feature reserved in the past for their exclusive EDG binoculars. This advanced technology results in improved light-gathering qualities for brighter, crisper viewing during low-light conditions. A new rigid, ergonomic design provides exceptional balance and light weight. Both models weigh in at less than 26 oz. A larger focus knob provides fast subject acquisition. Rubber-armored coating makes for a nonslip grip, wet or dry. Thumb-positioning memory contours allow maximum traction with the soft-grip tactile surface. Flip-down objective covers keep lenses from getting scratched. Nitrogen-filled with O-ring seals that ensure a waterproof and fogproof view. 25-year limited warranty.

Like them But!
Date:
I have had these for 6 months now and do a lot of glassing and they are great for the money. Brite easy focus and very sharp looking through brush and trees. But and here it is. As everybody stated the lens caps are the worst in the industry and I could live with that till the eye cups went from locking very nicely to not locking at all this is not acceptable they are a bad design I had to fix mine while out in the field and it is of cheap design. Nikon should call me and see how to fix there poor design and I did fix mine for good. If I had the time to send them in I would have done so but mine broke in the field and I had to come up with the fix or go without bino's. Cabelas or Nikon give me a call I'll show you first hand how to fix a problem.

WOW!!

Buying these Nikon glasses was the best move I could have made. Very clear & bright and comfortable for long glassing sessions. I compared them side by side with a pair of green,German glasses. The german models were spectacular...and they sure as heck should be for 4 times the money. Dollar for Dollar, Nikon sure has a winner here....and Cabela's sale prices make them even more affordable!

Very nice binocular

I also have a pair of Nikon EDG 8x42 and these binoculars lack the super wide field of view that the EDG has, but they also cost 25% what the EDG does. Image wise the two are very close.
The cap retainers for the front lenses is a terrible design and if you rely on it you will probably not have the caps for long. Here's a hint, leave the caps, rain guard, case and neck strap in the box and buy a Badlands binocular case with harness. It is waterproof, dust proof and distributes the weight if a full sized binocular much better than any strap.
They are a great low light binocular, I have the 10.5x45. I have had them about a year now and use them more for hunting in eastern Washington and Montana than in western Washington where I live. The image is clear and bright, the ergonomics are great, there are no weird color phase shifts.
All in all they are a great binocular.

Dont spend the extra money. Buy original Monarchs.
Date:
I bought the monarch x to replace my monarchs because the eye cup broke and couldnt be without binos for the month it takes nikon to replace them. After seeing how awesome the monarchs were i figured these would be amazing binos, and i was wrong. My friend has the trailblazers so we compared all three in low light. If all three were the same price i would still pick the monarch x's last. Glad i didnt send my monarchs to nikon yet cause i would rather use them even though they are broken then to use these. They will be returned.
